Nou(能) is Japan's oldest musical theater form. It was
developed in the 14th century (the Muromachi period) . Nou was for
warriors or samurai. ![]() ![]() Kabuki(歌舞伎)is one of the representative traditional theater forms of Japan. Subsequently Kabuki performances came to be enacted by males only. Later, those performances gradually put emphasis on artistry, and were perfected as classical Japanese dance and music. ![]() ![]() |
