German Institute of Global Affairs (GIGA) Institute of Asian Studies in Germany, formerly the Institute of Asian Affairs, to forge closer academic links and jointly publish the Journal of Current Chinese Affairs starting this year. Under the framework for collaboration, NICS Director Professor Flemming Christiansen joins the journal's editorial team, which is responsible for maintaining high editorial quality and furthering the international impact of the journal.
Established as the German-language monthly China aktuell in 1972, the Journal of Current Chinese Affairs uses a double-blind peer review system for all articles. This makes it a member of the small, prestigious group of fully peer reviewed internationally-renowned journals in the field of modern China. This independent quality control procedure is vital for enhancing the credibility and acceptability of published research papers.
Published quarterly, the journal focuses on current developments in Greater China, including Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. The journal is produced in both open access and printed publication format. All content is available online without cost, access restrictions or delay at the same time that the printed version is published.
The Journal of Current Chinese Affairs can now be accessed online in full text via: www.CurrentChineseAffairs.org. Authors are invited to submit their manuscripts to the journal directly through the new web interface on: www.CurrentChineseAffairs.org/submission.
